Exporting your own data
You can request a personal copy of every piece of data Strata has about you — conversations, settings, memory, and usage — at any time.
Requesting an export
- Open Settings and click Privacy in the side navigation.
- Scroll to the Export your data card and click Export.
- The Export your data modal opens.
Choose a time range
Pick one of:
- All time — every conversation since you joined.
- Last 30 days — the last 30 days only.
- Last 90 days — the last 90 days only.
- Custom range — opens two date fields (MM/DD/YYYY) for Start date and End date.
Submit
Click Request export. The modal swipes the form out and shows a "Preparing your export…" spinner.
When the request is accepted, the modal shows an Export sent confirmation explaining a link has been emailed to you and expires in 24 hours.
What the export contains
Your export arrives as a ZIP archive containing the following JSON files:
conversations.json— all your chats, titles, and metadata.messages.json— every message with content, SQL queries, tokens, and feedback.settings.json— memory entries, custom instructions, and your preferences.analytics.json— usage statistics and activity summary.export_info.json— export metadata (date range, counts).
The export contains content from your own account only.
How the export is delivered
The download link is emailed to the address on your account, from DoNotReply@mail.kronisys.com. The link expires after 24 hours. If you do not see the email, check your spam or junk folder.
Relationship to org-wide admin exports
The personal export here covers your data only. Administrators have a separate, broader export flow that can include multiple users at once for organizational compliance or migration purposes — see /docs/admin/data-export.
The two flows are independent: a personal export by you does not create an admin-side audit event beyond Strata's standard activity logging, and an admin export does not consume your personal-export quota.
What can go wrong
- Export failed message in the modal. The modal shows the underlying error and a link to contact support. Most common causes are transient errors — try again in a few minutes.
- Connection error message in the modal. Strata could not reach the server. Check your network connection and try again.
- Email never arrives. Check your spam or junk folder for messages from
DoNotReply@mail.kronisys.com. If still missing, your IT may be quarantining external automated mail — ask them to allow that sender, then re-request the export. - Download link returns "expired". Links expire 24 hours after the email is sent. Request a fresh export.
