Library
On this page
Library, in the sidebar after Inbox, keeps everything Strata has made for you, from all your chats, in one place: the dashboards it built and the documents, spreadsheets, slide decks, pictures and other files it wrote. You don't need to remember which chat something came from.
#What it lists
- Dashboards Strata built in your chats. A dashboard it changed over several turns is one card: its newest version, with how many versions there are (v2, v3). Dashboards are counted the way a chat's own list of outputs counts them, by their title within their chat.
- Files Strata wrote: documents (Word, PDF, Markdown, text), spreadsheets (Excel, CSV), presentations (PowerPoint), images, and anything else, including what an Analysis made. A document Strata edited is one card, its newest version, with how many versions led to it.
- What your agents made. Its preview says Agent run where a chat's name would be, and its menu opens that run.
Each thing is a card: a small picture of it, its title, what it is (Dashboard, Document, Spreadsheet, Presentation, Image or File) and when it was made. The picture is the thing itself:
- a dashboard as it was last drawn, in the same sealed frame its own page uses (its queries do not run again for the picture);
- a PDF's first page, a picture itself, a spreadsheet's first rows;
- a Word file's first paragraphs and a PowerPoint file's first slide, read from the file (the full layout is in its preview);
- a Markdown or text file's first lines.
A file of another kind, or one too large to read for a card, shows its type's icon instead. Pictures are drawn as their cards come into view, a few at a time, and kept until you reload the page.
Only your own chats are listed. Nobody else's work appears in your Library, and yours appears in nobody else's.
It never lists:
- files you uploaded yourself, or a OneDrive file Strata put into another format for you;
- attachments Strata fetched from your mailbox, Jira or Confluence;
- anything from a chat you deleted;
- anything from a turn that was not saved to your history (your privacy settings decide that), or that your organization's policy withdrew;
- incognito chats, which are never stored.
#Finding something
The newest things come first, in one grid that uses the width of the window. A dashboard you pinned to the sidebar comes first, under Pinned, and carries a pin; everything else then sits under Recents.
- Search your library finds a title or a file name, in any case. What you type is matched as you typed it: a % or an _ is that character, not a wildcard.
- The filter under the search box shows one kind at a time: All, Dashboards, Documents, Spreadsheets, Presentations, Images and Other files. Only the kinds you have are offered.
- Show more, at the end of the grid, loads older things.
#Previewing something
Click a card to preview it in a window over the Library. The window's header names it and says what it is, which chat it came from, when it was made and how many versions it has. It shows:
- a dashboard as it was last drawn, with its charts working. Its queries do not run again here: Open takes it to its own page, where they do and its filters apply.
- a PDF page by page, and a Word file the same way once Strata has rendered it as a PDF on its own servers.
- a PowerPoint file one slide at a time, with the strip of slides along the bottom.
- a spreadsheet as a grid, with its sheets as tabs.
- a picture at its full size, fitted to the window.
- a Markdown file formatted, and a text file (a log, JSON, XML, SQL, a web page's source) as text.
A file Strata cannot preview (a .zip, for example) says No preview for this file, with Download. Press Esc, click outside the window or use its close button to go back to the Library; Esc works from inside a dashboard too. On a phone the window fills the screen.
The window's header has what the card's menu has:
- Open (for a dashboard, a PDF or a picture): a dashboard on its own page, a PDF or a picture in a new browser tab;
- Download (for a file), under its own name;
- Show in chat, which opens the chat it came from, or Open the agent run for something an agent made;
- Share…, to share it with people in your organization (see Sharing);
- Pin to sidebar or Unpin from sidebar, for a dashboard.
Each card's menu (⋯, shown when you point at the card, and always on a touch screen) has the same.
#Starting something new
Three buttons at the top, New dashboard, New report and New deck, open a new chat with the start of a request already typed (Build a live dashboard of:, Write a report about:, Make a slide deck about:). Finish the sentence and send it; nothing is sent until you do.
#Hiding it
Like the other places, the Library can be hidden from the column: More then Edit sidebar…, then untick Library. It is then one click away in More's menu. See Edit sidebar.
#What can go wrong
- Your library could not be loaded. with Try again: Strata could not read it just then. Nothing is lost; try again in a moment. The Library is never shown as empty when it could not be read.
- The file could not be downloaded.: the download did not finish, or the file is no longer stored. Try again in a moment.
- The preview did not load: the file could not be shown just then. Reload the page to try again, or download the file.
- No preview for this file: Strata has no viewer for this kind of file. Download it to open it in the app that made it.
- Nothing matches “…”: no title or file name holds what you typed. Try a different word, or clear the search.
- Nothing here yet: Strata has not made anything in your chats yet. Dashboards, documents, spreadsheets and slide decks it makes for you in any chat will appear here.
